What is a dental emergency?
At Westchester Family Dentistry, we understand that you cannot always plan when you will need our help. We are here to help you during dental emergencies, which include injuries, damage, and other conditions that require fast, quality treatment to return your smile to good health. Some of the most common dental emergencies we treat at our dental office include:
- Injuries to the soft tissues of the mouth, such as the tongue, gums, lips, and cheeks
- A knocked-out tooth
- A chipped or broken tooth
- A cracked tooth
- Severe tooth pain, or a persistent toothache
- A broken or lost restoration (filling, crown, bridge, etc.)
- A partially knocked-out (avulsed) tooth
If you suffer from one of these or another type of dental emergency in Yonkers, New York, we encourage you to call our dental office as soon as possible. We provide 24-hour emergency dental care, and we work hard to see emergency patients as soon as we can.
I am having a dental emergency. What should I do?
If you have suffered an injury to the head or neck, visit your doctor or the emergency room before calling the dentist. For all other cases, call our office to schedule a visit with Drs. Stan and Amy Shih. Our dental team will also provide you with instructions on how to care for your smile until you can come to our practice.
